Springburn Harriers, a running club in Glasgow, has a great tradition in Scottish athletics. Having been formed in 1893, and now in its second century, the club is one of the oldest running clubs in Scotland.  Based in Bishopbriggs, to the north of Glasgow, it continues to cater for both male and female athletes and runners.

Springburn Harriers have a particularly strong Masters (Vets) section (male & female), however, the average age is coming down as younger members are joining monthly.  The committee are keen to welcome all keep-fit enthusiasts no matter their standards.  We are confident that we can match all newcomers with a club member who is equally as fast (or as slow) as you require.

The Harriers are determined to extend their membership and profile in the coming years and to recapture their glory days of the previous century.

Guests are always welcome!  Please join us on Tuesdays and/or Thursdays at 7 o'clock at Huntershill off Crowhill Road, Bishopbriggs. The club also meet near the LeisureDrome, Balmuildy Road, Bishopbriggs on Sundays at 9:30am for the longer, slower run and some chat. The club are keen to incorporate fun into the training.  This extends outwith training to the various social and fun events organised througout the year.

Members participate throughout the year in events ranging from 5K through to full Marathon and have represented the club as far afield as New York and Brisbane.

The highlight of the summer is undoubtedly the very successfully 'Springburn Harriers Intra-District Tour' (S.H.I.T.).  Five events on Five evenings all on different surfaces - Track, Road, Hill, Trail and Cross-Country.  Our members find this event to be a totally different experience and all are looking forward to the next series in trepidation.

A warm welcome is assured to all 'would be' runners / joggers, therefore, please come along and find out more from the new members themselves.  Our doors are always open to 'come and try' for yourself.  If you like the company, friendship, and security of running with the pack, then Springburn Harriers is the pack to be with.
